Our beautiful farm!

Surrounded by rolling farms, lakes and State Parks, we operate on a private farm on almost twenty beautiful acres in the small town of Clinton, MI just Southwest of Ann Arbor. We are minutes from the Irish Hills and Michigan Speedway.

Our sanctuary, located at 4875 Pennington Road, Clinton MI 49236, consists of a large horse barn with 17 stalls (and room for more), including three broodmare stalls and three quarantine stalls. We have two round pens, with a third in the plans. There are seven large pastures and a huge run-in that has direct access from several of the pastures via a gate system. We have our hay stored in the barn for easy access, a tack room, feed room, office and rest room. A small indoor arena is in the plans for fall of 2022 as well as a large outdoor one.

Two Wild Hearts Sanctuary owns multiple pieces of equipment useful in our day-to-day function of sheltering and caring for horses. We have a gooseneck Lakota four horse slant with camper, a 16' bumper pull CornPro Stock trailer, several flatbed utility trailers, a John Deere tractor with multiple tractor attachments and much more!

As soon as the horses arrive, they are placed in quarantine for a minimum 2 weeks and up to 30 days. Day one they are assessed and photographed. Each horse is thoroughly bathed (weather permitting) to wash any auction/kill pen stink and fear from their bodies, nostrils, and minds. Within several days each has been dewormed, seen the farrier and have had a vet assessment for any injuries or lameness we identified. By day three we typically turn them out in an isolated paddock to eat, drink, play and just be horses. The transformation in their tired bodies and the light we see coming back into their eyes is what makes all the hard work worth every ache, pain, sweat and bucket of tears.
