Pasture Pets for Adoption

Our goal is to place these horses into wonderful loving retirement and companion homes. Our horses have veterinarian and trainer evaluations and a full disclosure on any medical or behavioral problems. If a horse is not the right match it can be returned to our shelter for another horse. We make the adoption process as easy as possible from both ends.

Please be aware, our horses are NOT first come first serve. Horses are adopted out after a decision between the five board members to whom we feel is the best fit.

Trepi

24-year-old Arabian Mare

Stunning Trepi is the best nanny horse we've had. She accepts and bonds with new horses, especially the thin and weak, taking them under her wing while they adjust and recover.

Trepi CAN be ridden ever so lightly, but due to an old injury to her right knee can only handle things like ponying grand kids around. She is remarkably sound on her knee and can still run like the wind but will appear off at the trot.

Unfortunately, Trepi has been mostly bottom of totem pole and can be pushed off her feed easily. She has been thriving with the rehab horses and has finally found her place as herd leader.

Mickey

25+ year old large Shetland gelding

Mickey is an aged Shetland Pony estimated to be in his late twenties. He is not broke, though we were told he could drive but we have not tried with him. He can be difficult to catch but a treat will do the trick. He likes people and is a gentleman once caught. We believe he spent most of his time outdoors as he gets stressed in a barn. We were also told he has spent most of his life being a companion to show horses. He bonds quickly and takes over a herd as dominant horse.
